Overview:

Get out into the best of Doi Inthanon National Park trekking area i.e. Pha Dok Seaw and Kew Mae Pan. Get to see this beautiful view point over 2,565 meter high, Wachiratarn waterfalls, coffee and fruits plantation while trekking through Hmong and Karen hill tribe villages. Overnight at a quiet village in comfort able bungalow. Finish off the final day with Elephant riding and the famous Chiang Mai bamboo rafting along Mae Wang river. This is an excellent way to make the most of two days while in the Chiang Mai area.

Itinerary:

Day 1: Trekking for 4 hours, birds-watching (Birding-Binoculars) plus sightseeing tour. (please e-mail us for an expert tour guide of this tour).

  • 7:00 - 7:30am: You will be picked up from your hotel or guest house lobby and travel to Doi Inthanon National park.
  • Drive approximately 2 hours to the highest peak of Thailand (Doi Inthanon National Park). Enjoy the outstanding view at the summit and walking in the nature trail to see many kind of birds, historical sightseeing and flowers admiring.
  • Trekking approximately 2 hours in the beautiful trail from elevation of 2000 meter high, along the way you will always find the incredible views of pristine forest.
  • Go to visit the beautiful architecture of Nopamaytanidol Chidi and Phra Mahatat Nopaphon Bhumisiri which build to honor the 60th birthday of King Bhumipol and Queen Sirikit.
  • Break for lunch at the Royal Project restaurant.
  • Continue 2 hours walking through the jungle follwing a narrow mountain trail which leads us to stunning hidden waterfall in the middle of lush jungle. Along the way before reaching the Pagagayaw karen hill tribe village, we will pass through the farmland where you will see the coffee plantation, flowers farm and the beautiful rice terraces (the possibility to see is around July - the middle of November) etc.
  • Visit the Pagagayaw Karen hill tribe village and taste a cup of locally grown coffee.
  • Visit Vachirathern waterfall (a 70 meters high thunderous waterfall). 
  • Drive to Mae Win  and check in at Bungalows.
  • Dinner and overnight stay.

Day 2: Elephant camp, free & easy and bamboo rafting 

  • Early morning before getting hot and before many tourists come, you will have a chance to do the activities with the elephants. There are 2 options for you to choose as follows:
    Option 1 No Riding: enjoy an introductory lesson about elephant anatomy, history, and behaviour. Meet the elephants. Feed, interact, and play with the elephants in their natural home as you learn about their behaviour and history. Take photos with the elephants. Walk with the elephants to the river. Bathe and brush the elephants.
    Option 2 Bareback Riding: learning instructions in the basics of elephant training theory from experienced trainers. After that, you will apply what you have learned and begin your relationship with your elephant. You'll enjoy bathing your elephants in the river as well as feeding and watching the playful antics of the elephant. You will ride bare back (no bench or harness) while walking alongside your mahout.  
  • After your session with your elephants, enjoy some refreshments then back to the resort to have lunch.
  • After lunch, we will take it easy and relax at the resort (you can ask for Thai Massage here).
  • After that, we will leave the resort.
  • Lastly, enjoy the bamboo rafting along Mae Wang river with a beautiful scenic around you.
  • Get change to dry cloth and return to Chiang Mai.
  • Arrive at your hotel about 5pm.
     

Tour includes:  

  • Round trip transportation provided by air-conditioned car.
  • An English speaking tour guide who is experienced, friendly, knowledgeable and officially registered by the Tourism Authority of Thailand.
  • Local guide helper from the village.
  • 4 Thai local foods: Lunch on the first day and last day and drinking water.
  • Accommodation (bungalows).
  • All entrances fees as mentioned in the above itinerary.
  • Accident insurance during the trip.
